Resolve complaint of depressed policeman within 30 days, Madhya Pradesh HC directs Damoh SP

The Jabalpur Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court recently disposed of a petition with the direction that the complaint of depressed police personnel should be resolved within 30 days.

Petitioner Anil Rajak had filed the writ petition being aggrieved by indecision on the part of Superintendent of Police, Damoh on his representations dated July 21, 2020.

Bhupendra Kumar Shukla, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the petitioner is suffering from depression and mental illness and, therefore, he may not be assigned night duty. Representation filed by petitioner is pending before the Damoh SP. The petitioner’s limited prayer sought that the SP be directed to consider and decide his representation.

A single-judge bench of Justice Vishal Dhagat disposed of the petition with the direction to the respondent to consider and decide the representation of petitioner dated 21.07.2020 as per law within a period of 30 days. The counsel appearing for the State did not oppose the petition.
