New Delhi (ILNS): The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde and Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian today said that it will consider the case of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker violating the three-month deadline in deciding the disqualification of the 22 defected MLA’s from Congress to BJP, even after the matter becomes infructuous.
The plea had been brought before the court by Congress MLA Vinay Saxena.
Today, while the counsel for the defendants sought an adjournment till Friday. Senior Counsel Sibal, for Congress, said that the matter be heard, or else it may become infructuous.
That was when the bench said that it will consider Sibal’s statement even after the matter becomes infructuous.

Sibal reiterated that disqualification matters should be heard on an urgent basis before it becomes infructuous. The bench repeated its assertion.
