On the instructions of Madhya Pradesh High Court, a lawyer is raising awareness about cleanliness in Jabalpur city, giving tips in relation to hygiene. Despite this, there has been no concerted efforts from the Municipal Corporation, Jabalpur.
The High Court has taken the issue of cleanliness very seriously during the Covid era. Under this, the Municipal Corporation, Jabalpur has been warned that the status report of the campaign should be filed and in case of failing to do so, a strong fine will be imposed against the Municipal Corporation by the Court.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav (Acting) and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla have asked Public Interest Petitioner Rani Durgavati University Student Council convenor advocate Dhiraj Singh Thakur to continue their efforts.
During the hearing, advocate Vijay Kumar Maurya had argued that despite the earlier guidelines of the High Court, the status of Municipal Corporation, Jabalpur remains the same. There is no concrete solution to prevent flooding. Cleanliness of the city also continues with the turtle movement. In many places, heaps of dirt have become common.
Such negligence in the era of the Covid crisis is nothing short of inviting new forms of epidemic.Therefore, the High Court should strictly call for a status report from the Municipal Corporation, the Court held.
Earlier, on behalf of the Municipal Corporation, Advocate Vishwamohan Bhardwaj had insisted on giving time to file the status report. The court accepted the demand with strict warning. The Deputy Advocate General Swapnil Ganguly appeared on behalf of the state.

After considering the entire case, the court also made Petitioner aware of its responsibility. Under this, the citizens were asked to fulfill the responsibility of educating more and more towards cleanliness.
