The Delhi High Court has dismisses a petition filed by NGO Parents Forum for Meaningful Education seeking a waiver of examination fee charged from students appearing for the Class 10th and 12th board examination.
Turning down the plea, the division bench of Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh said, “This seems to be more of a Publicity Interest Litigation.” The court further noted that every government has its own budgetary provisions and waiving the fees would add a grave burden on the government.
It was further noted that the decision for waiving the said fees is a policy complex decision and depends on the availability of money, public works to be done by government etc.
