Prayagraj (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has directed the Gautam Buddha Nagar City Magistrate to provide protection to Indus Towers Ltd so that they can set up their mobile communication tower in the face of protests from local people. The court has also directed to take appropriate action in three weeks on the application for police protection for setting up mobile towers in Greater Noida.
The order was given by a division bench of Justice Anjani Kumar Mishra and Justice Prakash Padia on a petition filed by Indus Towers Limited.
Petitioner Advocate Ashish Mishra and Greater Noida Authority Advocate Anjali Upadhyay appeared on behalf of the petitioner. The counsel has submitted that the government has issued a circular directing the Police Administration to give protection in setting up the tower. It is said that towers should not be damaged. The Petitioner company said that people nearby were not allowing it to erect towers.

The Petitioner said it had sought Police protection from the City Magistrate but no help was being given. On this, the Court has directed the city magistrate to take action to provide Police protection.
